Serious Dedication

Serious Dedication is a challenge advancement in the Husbandry tab of Minecraft's advancement system, carrying the in-game description "Use a Netherite Ingot to upgrade a Hoe, and then reevaluate your life choices." It branches directly off A Seedy Place, so that earlier advancement is its prerequisite and must be earned first. The Husbandry tab covers advancements related to farming, animal breeding, food, and the natural world. Serious Dedication was added in Minecraft 1.16, from the Nether Update, and is still in the 26.2 advancement set.

It is rated Hard difficulty on this site: requires significant effort, rare resources, or dangerous encounters. Because it is flagged as a challenge advancement, completing Serious Dedication makes a special toast and a sound play, and its frame in the advancement screen is the magenta challenge style rather than a normal square.
